In any serious Nigerian Dwarf breeding program, the bucks are truly the backbone. While does certainly contribute to the quality of a herd, a single buck can impact dozens of kids each year, meaning his genetics quickly shape the future of the herd.

A well-chosen buck brings strength in critical areas: improved conformation, enhanced udder structure, greater milk production, and overall herd consistency. Because of the influence a buck has across multiple generations, selecting bucks with proven lines, strong structural traits, and dairy production behind them is one of the most important decisions a breeder can make.
